Who are contributing more towards Corona containment expenses and  who are getting media coverage?

A very simple calculation to  show contribution of Government Employees & Pensioners to the Exchequer due to DA freeze.

Total Number of Central Government Employees including defence and paramilitary forces = 54 lakh.

Total Number of Central Government Pensioners = 65 lakh.

Average Basic Pay and Pension = Rs.50,000/-

DA @ 4% from 01/01/2020 to 30/06/2020:

2,000 × 6 = 12,000/-

DA @ 4% from 01/07/2020 to 31/12/2020(4+4=8%).

4,000 × 6 = 24,000/-

DA @ 4% from 01/01/2021 to 30/06/2021 (4+4+4=12):

6,000 × 6 = 36,000/-

Thus Total Amount involved per employee/pensioner

 12,000 + 24,000 +36,000 = 72,000/-

Contribution of Central Government Employees/ Pensioners 

 (54 lakh + 65 lakh = 119 lakh) 

= 72,000 × 1,19,00,000 = ₹85680,00,00,000/-

Hence, the central government employees and pensioners alone will be contributing ₹85.680 thousand crores to the Exchequer between April, 2020 to June, 2021. 

Apart from this one day pay has been donated by the employees

 (54 lakh) to PM CARES FUND which tantamounts to Rs 3,000 crore (approx).

Income Tax element may also be thought about which comes out to be one thousand crore.

Hence, total additional support (excluding Income Tax component) from central government employees/pensioners alone would be

85,680 cr + 3,000 cr = ₹88,680 crore.

It is more than 52% of the central government’s total Corona Relief Package of Rs 1.7 lakh crores.

Just imagine who is actually feeding poor people of India ? 

 Is it Government or 

the Government Employees / Pensioners !!

But, who are getting media footage? 

It’s the film actors and industrialists, not the government employees or pensioners!! 😔😔
